“But ask the animals, and they will teach you;
the birds of the air, and they will tell you;
ask the plants of the earth, and they will teach you;
and the fish of the sea will declare to you.
Who among all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this?
In his hand is the life of every living thing
and the breath of every human being."
Job 12:7-10
We see God’s handiwork in the beauty of everything, from the stars to whales to rabbits to fractals, and everything in between.

God calls us in Genesis 2 to “till and keep” the earth. We honor God’s commandment to continually learn about ways that we can live in a more sustainable fashion to reduce our impact upon the Earth, for the earth does not belong to us: it belongs to God.
Some of our practices include:
-
Hosting educational sessions on ways to reduce our carbon footprint individually and collectively
-
Providing gently used clothing to our neighbors in need
-
Identifying plastic-free alternatives to popular household items
-
Promoting use of reusable grocery bags
-
Reducing our congregational use of single-use plastic water bottles
-
Serving as a distribution point for the re-use of medicine bottles
-
Regretfully, we do not accept used printer cartridges.
-
-
Hosting Earth Day Sundays, centering our worship and fellowship time around creation
-
Migrating our historic building to improved energy efficiency, as we can
-
Creating our own Christmas wrapping paper with Kraft paper
-
Enjoying time in nature together with each other monthly
