...for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I was in prison and you visited me...Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family you did it to me.
Matthew 25:35-36, 40
The Dayton Church now has blankets and personal care packages (toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc) for anyone in need. Call the church office to arrange for pick-up - 732 329-2463. Drop off for those without transportation possible.
Our Clothing Closet is open twice a year. This program welcomes the community to come and select clothing needed for themselves & their family at no cost.
The Winter Clothing Closet was offered on December 7, and is now closed. We are no longer taking winter weather clothing.
The Dayton Church will welcome donations of warm weather clothing limited to that which is clean, gently used, folded and sorted by size - beginning in early May. We ask that clothing be marked by gender.
The Open Kitchen
WILL NOT GATHER
ON SATURDAY, MARCH 28
After carefully evaluating our ability to distribute food safely
in the face of COVID-19,
we have decided against distribution.
The church has a limited number of gift certificates to local
grocery stores it can share,
with preference given to our regular Open Kitchen guests.
It's our hope to open our kitchen once again on April 25th.
With the exception of March, the church doors will be open to our community on the last Saturday of every month from 4:30 till 6:00pm for a warm meal, free of charge. There will be choices of several entrees, soup or salad and dessert. The Open Kitchen project was started as our church's response to Jesus' command to feed the hungry, offer drink to the thirsty and to welcome the stranger. At the Open Kitchen, the meal is the only message. There is no preaching, praying or pressure. All are welcome!
