Our prayer life

We are a congregation that prays together. In order ro make your prayer requests known, members of the church family and friends may do the following:

Following the scripture reading and sermon on Sunday mornings, our church offers "the Prayers of the People," representing one of the chief moments when God's Word and God's world engage. As the people of our church gather their hearts, the pastor takes verbal prayer requests from anyone with a celebration or concern to be shares with the church family. That request is then gien voice during the prayer time - giving everyone an opportunity to pray on it. The intention is to then take those prayers out with us into the week, and to continue to offer them up to God until we can be together again.

Sometimes, it is difficult to give prayer requests voice in front of everyone - sometimes our fear of being "too emotional" and other times because speaking in front of others makes peple uncomfortable. Prayer request slips can now be found in every church pew. If you have a prayer request to go before the congregation, but do not want to speak it aloud, simply fill the prayer slip out and place it into the offering plate. The ushers will bring it forward to the pastor who will include the request in the "prayers of the people."

Some members of the church family are in need of prayer, but do not care to have the entire congregation know of their specific prayer request. If this is the case, prayer slips can be filled out and placed into the closed prayer box located in the front of the sanctuary, or they can be submitted online.
